H-Ween Pic

Here is a picture of Yasmin and I last year. In case you couldn't guess what we were, I was a tourist and she was a Christmas Caroler. Every time someone answered their door, she would yell "Merry Christmas". Some people got mad and wouldn't give us candy.

halloween

Personally, I think Halloween is the worst holiday EVER!! It is probably due to the fact that I get scared really easily and I do not like to get scared. A lot of my friends still go trick-or-treating, but last year was my last year. I like the candy part, but that is about all. I feel bad for my future kids since their mom will be too big of a weenie to go trick-or-treating with them. Talk Later,

Melancholy Monday

Today was the start of the new nine weeks at school!! There are some new kids in my BCIS class, and annoying Jeff got moved out of my Physics class. Because he got moved, now my brother sits behind me. He is having so much fun bothering me by pulling my hair and moving my desk out from under me, Maybe it will get better as time goes on....
I found out on Saturday night that the high school band is going to state competition. I may have to go a couple days without my best friends, but that is totally the price to pay for the band going to state. She plays the saxophone during marching season and the oboe the rest of the year. She is going to have so much fun.
Lastly I want to mention this comment I received last night. It is about getting Internet service in Brazil and the comment was in Portuguese and I had to use Google translator to understand it. It did give me a website name so here is the link for anyone who wants to check it out.

Fighting Breast Cancer and Saving 2nd Base

I just got back from cheering at a cheer station at the Breast Cancer 3-Day in Dallas. Those women (and a few men) walked from Fort Worth all the way to SMU in Dallas. That is 60 miles!!! I just went and cheered on the corner of Greenville and something else. We were right down the street from the Granada theater and across the street from Corner Market (the best sandwiches in town according to D Magazine) for anyone who knows Dallas. Seeing all those women and all that pink and those people who have gone through so much really touched me. My aunt had a breast cancer scare last Christmas, but luckily it was only a scare. I can't imagine what I would do if she were seriously affected by breast cancer.
I got the title of this blog from some women wearing t-shirts with 2 baseballs on them and read "Saved 2nd Base". There was a man walking whose shirt read "I heart Boobs" - just like the I heart NY shirts. There were some very funny shirts and sayings. My cheer station was chanting, "Don't rest, save those breasts!!" There was one elderly man who came up to me and my friends and said, "You know, we are doing this for you." That really got to me. I was so humbled by the whole experience. I can't wait until next year when we do this again. Eventually, I would like to walk in it myself, but I need to come up with the money. Maybe it will happen in 10 years.

???

We had a football game on Thursday night against McKinney High School and we won!! Oh Yeah! That is two games in a row!! Next Friday we play Frisco Centennial, the school with staph. Hopefully it doesn't spread to us.
Today was early release for the high school because of semester exams. At TCHS we only have four classes a day. They are 1.75 hours a piece (that is 1hour and 25 minutes for those people who don't know their decimals and/or fractions). That means that at the end of the nine weeks, it is really like the end of the semester. 1/2 credit classes are one nine weeks, 1 credit classes last for 1 semester and 2 credit classes last all year. That means I will only have Physics until Christmas break and then I will have another full credit class for the end of the year, it turns out to be math. Integrated classes like BioChem and Humanities are 2 credits so they last all year. Confused yet?
There was a stabbing last night in TC. Click here for a link to the new story.

Tueday, the day after Monday but before Wednesday

When I got to school today, I noticed everyone was wearing red and some people even had red duct tape over their mouths. I eventually found out that it is National Pro-Life day. At least that is what the kids at school told me...
I also went to the doctor this morning during first period. I got the flu shot and the 2nd HPV shot. the HPV shot hurt so bad. I could feel the pain traveling down my arm all the way down into my fingertips. It felt like someone was slowly pulling off my fingernails, but leaving the very end of the nail connecting to the skin so everytime I touched anything with that hand, my hands hurt all over again. Luckly that only lasted for an hour or so.
I got an e-mail from a website that I had submitted an essay to for a scholarship. I only made quater-finalist, but I am so proud of myself. A link to my essay is here. I think it could only be 500 words. I didn't even think my essay would get all the way to quater-finalist. I am so proud.

The debatably nerdy PSAT test

The PSAT was so easy today, except for some of the math. That part was hard. The English was super easy though. A mi no me gusta matamatacias. (i hope i spelled that right). Then in English, our teacher read us If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and If You Take a Mouse to School. I thought she was softening up until she made us write our own stories like that using Oedipus. She is still has evil as ever.
After school I had my all-member Debate meeting. Only 6 people showed up, and 4 of us were officers and required to come. But we have some tricks up our sleeves to make them come to more meeting.
And today was nerd day at school. I really wish I had some pictures to share. Everyone was so funny. Even people who never dress up for spirit days went all out. It was the best spirit day all week.

Terrific Tuesday... REALLY!?!?!?

Tomorrow morning I have the practice PSAT. It should be so easy. I have taken a couple tests and studied so much for this test. This test doesn't even count. All it does is determine if I can get into the PSAT class junior year. No big deal because I know people who know people who can get me into the class. Ha Ha Ha.
I am improving so much in my Physics class. Matt, Paul and I made a 85 on our catapult project, as pictured to the side. That raised my grade from an 81 to an 82. Then I made an 83 on today's test, which raised my grade even higher, a 85 to be exact. I thought that my parents would be more excited that I raised my grade a whole four points, but they are still disappointed in me. Just give me a break. I am doing the best I can.
Today was Wall Street Tuesday. I totally forgot to wear my suit jacket even though I did wear my white button down. Tomorrow is dress like a nerd day. I'll just wear my Debate Club shirt and my glasses. That is a nerdy as I am going to get.
I am president of the Debate Club (it may sound nerdy, but we do some pretty cool things and it looks really good on college apps) and we had a officers meeting today after school. My best friend is the treasure of The History Club and there was an all-member meeting today after school. I joined History Club for her and she joined Debate Club for me. I decided that I had better go to the Debate meeting since I am president and everything. When I told her, she acted disappointed and confused about why I was going to Debate and not the History Club meeting. I mean, hello. I am the president to the Debate Club. I think I could miss a stupid History Club meeting to go the meeting of the club I am running.

*The Weekend Rap-Up

The weekend was nice and relaxing. I got my hair cut, went to the best store ever (Costco) and bought a Calvin Klein shirt for $10, and didn't do any homework until Sunday night and then I only had to spend ten minutes on it. Right now I'm using some of those Crest White Strips. I got them at Costco for about $40 and they came with a week of extra strips and some toothpaste. I also had a $7 off coupon. I love Costco. It really is the best store ever. The White Strips are another story. They don't stay on too easily and they leave my teeth feeling slimy. They also taste nasty. Next time I think I will use Rembrant.
Today I also found out that I am dating a guy from Little Elm and we broke up over the weekend. First off, I only know 5 people who go to Little Elm and I don't have a boyfriend. I haven't had one in a very long time, like never. I hope whoever I was "dating" though was hot.

Maybe we should start playing rugby

Oh Dang. We lost again last night... 42 to 15. And a correction needs to be made on last night's blog, our record this year is 1-7. Really bad. I hope no one other team has to go through what we did last night. It was inevitable that we were going to be beat, but we could have at least shown up for the game. The first play was great, and then we fumbled the ball. It was all down hill from there. and the guy who stripped during the pep rally... he is usually a flag guy during the games, but he was mysteriously absent. Hmmm....

Friday Night Lights (for real)

Tonight is the third football home game of the season and next week is homecoming. The different dress- up themes are:
  • Monday - Wear your class colors
        • Freshmen - Green
        • Sophomores - Orange
        • Juniors - Blue
        • Seniors - Red
  • Tuesday-Wall Street Tuesday: Wear you buisness clothes.
  • Wednesday-Out Smart the Falcons: Wear yout nerdiest clothes.
  • Thursday- Clash with the Falcons: Wear clashing clothes.
  • Friday: Mums and garters
But all that doesn't matter until next week because we have got to play really hard to beat the Lobos tonight. They are undefeated and we are 2-5. It is not looking too good for us. The theme for this game is Grease Lighting on the Lobos. It really doesn't make any sense, but the pep rally was fun. Everyone dress up like the characters from Grease and one of the theater guys gave the speach that the coach in Grease gievs about "crushing them". It was so much fun. During the masoct charade, Erin, a crazy senior, started stripping. First he took of his tie and then his suit jacket. He tried to unbutton his shirt, but he couldn't get the buttons undo so he just pulled it over his head. Once he got it off he noticed the principal standing in front of him with her arms crosses. It was so funny. Maybe you just had to be there.

Church and boyfriends and Stu. Co., OH MY!!!!

Last night after I blogged I went to my church's Wednesday night Youth Group. Boring! At least I got to talk to my best friend because it is one of the only times I get see her thanks to her new boyfriend. They spend all of their time together. I feel like she has sort of forgotten about me, but this boyfriend will not last long. She is really bad with relationships.
Enough about her. Tonight was the Stu. Co. meeting (aka student council). New word of the day - bunk: uncool and/or harmful. Thank Jacob for that one. He came up with that word to describe drugs because he is in charge of Red Ribbon Week in two more weeks. Try to work that word in a conversation and see how it works.

The Devil Teaches English (though not very well)

Okay, so today in English we had a sub which was great because nobody in the class likes our teacher. She gave us a 4 page assignment on Latin root words that will help on the PSAT next year. Nobody understood how to do it. She didn't leave any instructions for the sub. How stupid. So now 45 kids (it is a humanities class, so there is double the kids) have no idea how to do their homework. And get this, she won't even be back from here conference until Friday so she won't even be able to guide us. Luckily, my best friend is taking Latin this semester so she is going to help me. Stupid teacher!!! Sorry if I'm getting angry. I'm just venting to get these out of my system. I can't really say anything at school because all the teachers talk. A couple of years ago some girl got busted for what she wrote on her Xanga about her math teacher. At least I didn't metion any names.

So, I've been reading other blogs here on Blogspot.com and I've noticed how important the other blogs are. There is one about this woman who is in Congo studying monkeys (http://bonbohandshake.blogspot.com) or this really great artist (http://sixtyminuteartist.blogstop.com) whose blog is devoted to telling people how to get the most time out of their studio each day. My blog is just about what I do each day. How boring. Maybe some day my life will get really interesting and my blog will be worth reading.

Monkey or Man?

This is a picture of my dad asleep in his bed. No, he is not really a monkey (even though sometimes he does act like one). My brother got this mask way back when we went ot the zoo up in Lafayette, Indiana. Both sides of my families live there and a trip to the zoo was an anual thing to do until we all had been so many times we could walk through the zoo with out eyes closed. Here is a link in case you are interested or ever go up there: http://www.lafayette.in.gov/zoo.
I've decided that this will be my profile pic, so get used to it!!

Numero Uno

I'm so excited!!!! This is my very first post on my very first blog. What to write about...... First off, I'm a high school student in the Dallas area. Dallas is beyond cool. It has a little bit of everything. Great food, great shopping, great sights, and great entertainment. I also knit, so expect to see some projects every once in a while, but not too often. I'm not like those people who obsess of knitting probably because I'm not that good. I can really only knit scarves and rectangles. Maybe I will knit something just to show you guys.
I hope this you guys some info about me. By guys I mean the people who have nothing better to do than spend all day surfing the web reading pathetic blogs from high school students. I doubt anyone will read this, but that makes it all better. Than I can write anything I want without the fear of anyone seeing what I wrote.
By the way, I don't have a MySpace. I think they are highly overrated, but I mostly don't have one because my dad is a super genius and blocked MySpace and YouTube from my computer and I haven't figured out how to unlock it.

BTW: I'm only writing at 2:00pm because I had no school today because I got off for Fair Day. Fair Day is a day where the school district gives all its students free tickets to the State Fair of Texas at Fair Park. The only think to do at the Fair though is eat and trust me, I don't need to eat any more fried food. And its Columbus Day.
