- The first alarms went off in the house while my family was on vacation so the firemen had to break into the house. We have to get the dry wall fixed, buy a new door, and we just replaced all of the firealarms.
- My dad was sick for Christmas and the 26th. I did not even see him on Christmas because he stayed at his mom's house while I was with my other grandparents.
- Today my 12-year-old sister found out she has strep throat and my 6-year-old sister has staph all through out her body. They think it might be the resistant strain. It also turns out that my dad has strep.
- Today is my brother's 18th birthday and we were going to have a huge party at our house (like we do every year), but now we have to move the party to his friend's house. My sister with staph thinks the whole thing is her fault (it kind of is) and has been crying since she got back from the doctor's office.

Back from vacation
Just as the title says, I'm back from vacation. I went to Indiana to see my whole family. My parents grew up in the same town, just 3 blocks away from one another. I GOT A WII!! My grandparents on my mom's side gave my family a Wii, my uncle a Wii, and aunt and other uncle a Wii. It is so much fun. The funniest part though is that my dad bought my family a Wii and it has been in his closet for almost 2 months. He is just going to sell it on eBay. If I can find the link I will try and post it for my readers, even though I am pretty sure I don't have any. BTW, if you are a reader, please leave me a comment so I at least know that someone is reading this.
Have a Happy New Year!!!

WOW is MOM upside down

You probably know everything about this now, but I can't believe it. Jamie Lynn Spears is preggers!! and only at 16! I had no doubt something like this was going to happen, I mean, look at today's role models. They party all the time, go to rehab, have children out of wedlock and are getting divorced like crazy. I can't really look up to anyone in Hollywood because all they do is cause trouble and havoc. I think I have watch Jamie Lynn's show once, so I don't really know too much about her acting career. I don't Google her or anything. I really did think she was the sane only sane member of the Spears family, but I guess not.
I respect her in her decision to keep the baby and raise the baby, but she is only 16, that is how old most 11th graders in high school are. She needs to slow down and evaluate her life before she gets in over her head (like her sister). She should have been more responsible with her body. Plus, the baby-daddy is 19 and they have been going out for 2 years. Isn't that illegal in most states. I know it happens all the time, but he got her pregnant. That is a huge difference. I know Beyonce's sister had a baby when she was 17, but 17 is legally considered an adult in the definition of law, and her baby-daddy wasn't that much older than her. There is a difference. Nickelodeon should totally drop her show. If I had a child, I would not let her watch any show with her on it because I not want my child to think it is okay to have a child when you are a teenager.
I guess the only Hollywood role model left would have to be... I have no idea.

3rd wheel on a semi-truck
My blog is offically uncool. I have been looking at other blogs and getting some ideas though. After today, for one whole week, my blog will be compiled completley of pictures.
My best friend Yasmin holds office in the school's history club. I joined history club not only because I am a huge history buff, but also to support her. She also joined Debate just to support me, even though she has no interest in it whatsoever. Anyways, I feel like I need to be really active or she might call me out on something. History Club is cool, but all the people in the club are her friends, just like Debate club had my friends in it. I feel like a third wheel. I try to talk to other people and make friends, but they all know each other from band or the other classes they have with one another. I know none of the people. When I say those inside jokes that usually make Yasmin crack up, she gives me this blank stare. Should I quit the club?

Turkey Week
Yes, this whole week is named Turkey Week, because all week I have eaten turkey. Even before Thanksgiving, the school served turkey.
As I stated in my last blog, this week has been near perfect. Friday I hung out with my family, Saturday I cleaned, Sunday I cleaned and relaxed. On Monday I hung out with my grandma, Tuesday I went shopping, Wednesday I relaxed and knit and saw my other grandparents. On Thursday I knit and ate turkey, Friday I went shopping, and Saturday was my brother's Eagle ceremony. This week was great besides the massive headache I have had all week and the fact I have been sleeping on the couch. Too bad this week even has to end. Today I have to devote the day to doing homework and returning the things my dad bought on Friday morning that he found out that he does not need. I hope everybody else's week was as great as mine.

Best Week Ever...NOT

It's official, today was one of the worst weeks of my life. It was even worse than when I found out about what that-guy-who-shant-be-named was doing behind my back with that other girl. Long story short, he hit on me, I was like "cool" and then he was like "yeah I got a girlfriend, but I'm pretending like you don't know about her", and then I was like "no way you piece of #$%@!!!" and then he got into a fight and was sent to live with his sister and then his best friend was like "he broke up with his girlfriend for you and he got in a fight over you ...blah blah blah" that was one of the worst weeks in my life. It really took place over a couple of months, but that last week was the one of the worst because I felt so guilty getting him in trouble. He was already in some trouble with the school and his dad and getting in that fight was the last straw. I was told that he was really mad because I rejected him even after he broke up with his girlfriend. He just got so mad that when Jorge said some mean remark to him about him being stupid, that-guy-who-shant-be-named punched Jorge in the face. (That was more like the valley girl version, the LONG valley girl version).
Okay, that story is not relevent, just some back story for anyone who reads this blog. Does anyone read this blog..... I didn't think so. Anyways, this week was the worst. I was brought to tears at least twice. A couple of other times I had to hold those tears back. It was just a horrible week. And tonight I have to go to Gatti Town in Frisco for my little sister's soccer party. A soccer party for 6-year-olds. At least I have no school next week.

Probably the Worst Day EVER!
Just like the title says, for me, today was probably the worst day ever. First, I could barely stay awake during first period. I almost fell asleep on my keyboard many of times, which probably constituted to the fact that I under nothing of what we did in class.
Then during 2nd period we took a quiz. I o the topic (momentum and impulse) like the back of my hand. I was ready to take it on Friday like we were going to until the teacher changed his mind. Anyways, I studied all weekend for the make-up test I had to take today (more info later) and I used the wrong formulas on the quiz. I made a 30, and I can't change that grade by retaking the quiz. I can't believe I made such a stupid mistake. My brother was the one who graded my paper and told me I had everything set up right, I just didn't' factor in time, which caused some major problems.
On the bright side, I didn't have English today and I won't see my English teacher on Wednesday.
During fourth period, my teacher went around to collect papers, and Santana and I were the only ones who did our homework. She chewed out the whole class and I felt so small. Even though I did my homework, I still felt like I was the one being screamed at. It is just a horrible feeling.
I got up from my desk at the end of 4th period to go take my re-take after school and I felt something wet on my legs. My "Aunt Flo" had come for a visit starting a few days ago and she leaked down my leg. I must have sat funny because her "bed" was empty. Luckily, I wore a tunic today to school. Once I got up stairs, the best friend a girl could ever have lent me her jacket to wear around my waist until I got home. Then I went to go take my test with an obnoxious yellow jacket tied around my hips. And you are never going to guess who I ran into... the guy I have had a crush on for quite some time. I must have looked so stupid. At this point I was almost in tears. Thank goodness I was staying after school to take that test though, because if I didn't, my brother's friend would of have to given me a ride home and seen me at my lowest point of the whole school year. This guy and I are friends I guess. We make small talk and he volunteered to give me a ride home from school, and he will help me if I really need something, but we don't hang out on the weekends or discuss what is really going on in our lives. It would be awful if he saw me all "Aunt Flo" like. It was bad enough that my crush saw, but don't see him everyday.
Anyways, I went to go take my test and the teacher had forgotten I was coming in even though I had told him on Friday and he asked me during class and I told him I was coming in today after school. So I had to wait 20 minutes while he made a test for me. That test was almost an insult. I was easy enough for a monkey to pass. There were only two I couldn't do because he had forgotten distance on one of them and the other one, I just really had no idea what to do.
Since my teacher had forgotten about me, he gave me my test and two large pieces of poster board with all the equations on them and sent me to Credit Recovery. CR is for people who have missed too much school or kids who have nothing better to do than hang out in a computer lab with a teacher who doesn't care. I had to try to take my test with the two kids in front of me flirting... in Spanish nevertheless, the teacher talking on her cell phone and one girl who had turned the sound on high on her computer. I barely kept my sanity.
After the test, I had to go to my locker to pick up a couple of books, and my phone bumped against something. When I was walking down the stairs, I noticed my phone was calling someone. The caller i.d. said Emergency Call. My phone had dialed 911!! I hung up hoping that no one had answered the phone yet, but I was out of luck. The lady called back, asked who I was, and if there was an emergency. I had to explain to her what happened and she still didn't believe me. She asked me twice if I was all right. I was so embarrassed.
On the ride home from school I was almost in tears, but if Ii would of cried my brother would of freaked out and might of wreaked, since he was driving. Somehow I kept my cool. When I got home, mom asked me how my day went and I told her that it was horrible and all about the quiz, then I went to go change. I couldn't stop crying. After I had cried for a good three minutes and collected myself, I went downstairs to put my clothes (and Yasmin's jacket) in the wash. I told my mom about the "Aunt Flo Accident" and she just told me that I need to be better prepared and that it was all my fault. I ALREADY know that, but she just needed to rub it in. She couldn't stop what she was doing for two seconds to give me a hug of say something positive. And she wonders why I never tell her anything.
In a nutshell (really, this is the condensed version) that was probably the worst day ever. And the worst part was that when I got up this morning I thought that today was going to be a great day. My jeans fit, even with my bloating, and my make-up was perfect. In fact, my make-up stayed near-perfect all day long. Even through the crying my make-up stayed put. That was the only big sunny side of my day. Perfect make-up. How pathetic and shallow am !?

Hmmm...
Yes, I did get everything done that I needed to on Tuesday, just not too well. I made a 60 on my Physics test - which I am retaking on Monday afternoon - , a 85 on my History test - but I used some old extra credit points to bring it up to a 90 -, and I made a 87 on my Spanish test.
Friday night was the last game of the season against Boyd. Boyd won. The score was something like 48-24. I was bad. The worst part was that it was my brother's last time ever playing football on an organized team like this. He didn't even want to leave the field. When the game was over I saw the biggest guy on the team come up to the bottom of the stands to talk to someone and he was crying. Tears were streaming down his face. He was trying to smile, but it was a fake "I'm trying to make this a happy moment" type of smile.
Since the lake was flooded this summer, our city didn't have a fireworks show (the fireworks are shot off from an island that was under water and there was no "beach" for people to sit on and watch the fireworks). So instead of a 4th of July fireworks show, TC had a veteran's day fireworks show. Tonight was also my brother's friend's birthday party. My brother has hung around with these same friends since middle school, and all of our families are really tight. Anytime anyone had a party, everybody goes. Anyways, it was his 18th birthday party, his real birthday is on the 14th, and my whole family went. This family just built a new house right on the lake, so we watched the fireworks from the balcony. The view was perfect. Then Jenna, Nick, Shannon, Mary and I (plus Elizabeth, but she is only 5 and really didn't do anything) played ping-pong while the guys did who-knows-what. We ate dinner, did cake and presents, and then the guys went outside, while us little brother and sisters went upstairs and danced to club music that KissFm was playing. We had such a good time. Nick really didn't dance, but kind of slept for most of the time. He is not really one for dancing. Jenna, Shannon and I just danced. None of us really have any skills, so we tried to white-girl dance. It was really bad. It was nothing dirty, just stupid looking. Then Nick called this person who had sent me this text that read "Keep running from me". The number that texted me is (972)-464-6661. I live in the 972 area. The person who answered sounded weird so I made Nick hang up before he said anything else. The guys downstairs were doing some pretty funny stuff. They were fake fighting, but one of the guys makes these really real sounding fight sounds. Then one guy gave some of the other guys back rubs. They formed a back rubbing train. That same guy also sat down next to some other guy and just starting holding and caressing his hand. It was pretty funny, or maybe you just had to be there.

So...Much...To...Do...
The past couple of days have been insane. I have had tons of homework and I have three test tomorrow. Our band (including my best friend) are in San Antonio for the state marching band competition. Senior night was on Friday and we won in the last ten seconds -thanks Jason- again!!! The pep rally was amazing. The senior footballs players danced to "Crank dat" by that Soldier Boy guy (that is totally not he spells his name). On top of all this I am working on my brother's Eagle ceremony. I have so much to do, but so little time. (isn't that always the case!)

I really shouldn't be writing since I have so much to do, but everyone needs a break. (According to my dad, people who take breaks are "losers". He says this whenever my brother takes a break from homework or scholarships.)

halloween
Personally, I think Halloween is the worst holiday EVER!! It is probably due to the fact that I get scared really easily and I do not like to get scared. A lot of my friends still go trick-or-treating, but last year was my last year. I like the candy part, but that is about all. I feel bad for my future kids since their mom will be too big of a weenie to go trick-or-treating with them. Talk Later,

Melancholy Monday
Today was the start of the new nine weeks at school!! There are some new kids in my BCIS class, and annoying Jeff got moved out of my Physics class. Because he got moved, now my brother sits behind me. He is having so much fun bothering me by pulling my hair and moving my desk out from under me, Maybe it will get better as time goes on....
I found out on Saturday night that the high school band is going to state competition. I may have to go a couple days without my best friends, but that is totally the price to pay for the band going to state. She plays the saxophone during marching season and the oboe the rest of the year. She is going to have so much fun.
Lastly I want to mention this comment I received last night. It is about getting Internet service in Brazil and the comment was in Portuguese and I had to use Google translator to understand it. It did give me a website name so here is the link for anyone who wants to check it out.

Fighting Breast Cancer and Saving 2nd Base
I just got back from cheering at a cheer station at the Breast Cancer 3-Day in Dallas. Those women (and a few men) walked from Fort Worth all the way to SMU in Dallas. That is 60 miles!!! I just went and cheered on the corner of Greenville and something else. We were right down the street from the Granada theater and across the street from Corner Market (the best sandwiches in town according to D Magazine) for anyone who knows Dallas. Seeing all those women and all that pink and those people who have gone through so much really touched me. My aunt had a breast cancer scare last Christmas, but luckily it was only a scare. I can't imagine what I would do if she were seriously affected by breast cancer.
I got the title of this blog from some women wearing t-shirts with 2 baseballs on them and read "Saved 2nd Base". There was a man walking whose shirt read "I heart Boobs" - just like the I heart NY shirts. There were some very funny shirts and sayings. My cheer station was chanting, "Don't rest, save those breasts!!" There was one elderly man who came up to me and my friends and said, "You know, we are doing this for you." That really got to me. I was so humbled by the whole experience. I can't wait until next year when we do this again. Eventually, I would like to walk in it myself, but I need to come up with the money. Maybe it will happen in 10 years.

???
We had a football game on Thursday night against McKinney High School and we won!! Oh Yeah! That is two games in a row!! Next Friday we play Frisco Centennial, the school with staph. Hopefully it doesn't spread to us.
Today was early release for the high school because of semester exams. At TCHS we only have four classes a day. They are 1.75 hours a piece (that is 1hour and 25 minutes for those people who don't know their decimals and/or fractions). That means that at the end of the nine weeks, it is really like the end of the semester. 1/2 credit classes are one nine weeks, 1 credit classes last for 1 semester and 2 credit classes last all year. That means I will only have Physics until Christmas break and then I will have another full credit class for the end of the year, it turns out to be math. Integrated classes like BioChem and Humanities are 2 credits so they last all year. Confused yet?
There was a stabbing last night in TC. Click here for a link to the new story.

Tueday, the day after Monday but before Wednesday
When I got to school today, I noticed everyone was wearing red and some people even had red duct tape over their mouths. I eventually found out that it is National Pro-Life day. At least that is what the kids at school told me...
I also went to the doctor this morning during first period. I got the flu shot and the 2nd HPV shot. the HPV shot hurt so bad. I could feel the pain traveling down my arm all the way down into my fingertips. It felt like someone was slowly pulling off my fingernails, but leaving the very end of the nail connecting to the skin so everytime I touched anything with that hand, my hands hurt all over again. Luckly that only lasted for an hour or so.
I got an e-mail from a website that I had submitted an essay to for a scholarship. I only made quater-finalist, but I am so proud of myself. A link to my essay is here. I think it could only be 500 words. I didn't even think my essay would get all the way to quater-finalist. I am so proud.

The debatably nerdy PSAT test
The PSAT was so easy today, except for some of the math. That part was hard. The English was super easy though. A mi no me gusta matamatacias. (i hope i spelled that right). Then in English, our teacher read us If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and If You Take a Mouse to School. I thought she was softening up until she made us write our own stories like that using Oedipus. She is still has evil as ever.
After school I had my all-member Debate meeting. Only 6 people showed up, and 4 of us were officers and required to come. But we have some tricks up our sleeves to make them come to more meeting.
And today was nerd day at school. I really wish I had some pictures to share. Everyone was so funny. Even people who never dress up for spirit days went all out. It was the best spirit day all week.

Terrific Tuesday... REALLY!?!?!?
Tomorrow morning I have the practice PSAT. It should be so easy. I have taken a couple tests and studied so much for this test. This test doesn't even count. All it does is determine if I can get into the PSAT class junior year. No big deal because I know people who know people who can get me into the class. Ha Ha Ha.
I am improving so much in my Physics class. Matt, Paul and I made a 85 on our catapult project, as pictured to the side.
That raised my grade from an 81 to an 82. Then I made an 83 on today's test, which raised my grade even higher, a 85 to be exact. I thought that my parents would be more excited that I raised my grade a whole four points, but they are still disappointed in me. Just give me a break. I am doing the best I can.
Today was Wall Street Tuesday. I totally forgot to wear my suit jacket even though I did wear my white button down. Tomorrow is dress like a nerd day. I'll just wear my Debate Club shirt and my glasses. That is a nerdy as I am going to get.
I am president of the Debate Club (it may sound nerdy, but we do some pretty cool things and it looks really good on college apps) and we had a officers meeting today after school. My best friend is the treasure of The History Club and there was an all-member meeting today after school. I joined History Club for her and she joined Debate Club for me. I decided that I had better go to the Debate meeting since I am president and everything. When I told her, she acted disappointed and confused about why I was going to Debate and not the History Club meeting. I mean, hello. I am the president to the Debate Club. I think I could miss a stupid History Club meeting to go the meeting of the club I am running.

*The Weekend Rap-Up
The weekend was nice and relaxing. I got my hair cut, went to the best store ever (Costco) and bought a Calvin Klein shirt for $10, and didn't do any homework until Sunday night and then I only had to spend ten minutes on it. Right now I'm using some of those Crest White Strips. I got them at Costco for about $40 and they came with a week of extra strips and some toothpaste. I also had a $7 off coupon. I love Costco. It really is the best store ever. The White Strips are another story. They don't stay on too easily and they leave my teeth feeling slimy. They also taste nasty. Next time I think I will use Rembrant.
Today I also found out that I am dating a guy from Little Elm and we broke up over the weekend. First off, I only know 5 people who go to Little Elm and I don't have a boyfriend. I haven't had one in a very long time, like never. I hope whoever I was "dating" though was hot.

Maybe we should start playing rugby
Oh Dang. We lost again last night... 42 to 15. And a correction needs to be made on last night's blog, our record this year is 1-7. Really bad. I hope no one other team has to go through what we did last night. It was inevitable that we were going to be beat, but we could have at least shown up for the game. The first play was great, and then we fumbled the ball. It was all down hill from there. and the guy who stripped during the pep rally... he is usually a flag guy during the games, but he was mysteriously absent. Hmmm....

Church and boyfriends and Stu. Co., OH MY!!!!
Last night after I blogged I went to my church's Wednesday night Youth Group. Boring! At least I got to talk to my best friend because it is one of the only times I get see her thanks to her new boyfriend. They spend all of their time together. I feel like she has sort of forgotten about me, but this boyfriend will not last long. She is really bad with relationships.
Enough about her. Tonight was the Stu. Co. meeting (aka student council). New word of the day - bunk: uncool and/or harmful. Thank Jacob for that one. He came up with that word to describe drugs because he is in charge of Red Ribbon Week in two more weeks. Try to work that word in a conversation and see how it works.

The Devil Teaches English (though not very well)
Okay, so today in English we had a sub which was great because nobody in the class likes our teacher. She gave us a 4 page assignment on Latin root words that will help on the PSAT next year. Nobody understood how to do it. She didn't leave any instructions for the sub. How stupid. So now 45 kids (it is a humanities class, so there is double the kids) have no idea how to do their homework. And get this, she won't even be back from here conference until Friday so she won't even be able to guide us. Luckily, my best friend is taking Latin this semester so she is going to help me. Stupid teacher!!! Sorry if I'm getting angry. I'm just venting to get these out of my system. I can't really say anything at school because all the teachers talk. A couple of years ago some girl got busted for what she wrote on her Xanga about her math teacher. At least I didn't metion any names.

So, I've been reading other blogs here on Blogspot.com and I've noticed how important the other blogs are. There is one about this woman who is in Congo studying monkeys (http://bonbohandshake.blogspot.com) or this really great artist (http://sixtyminuteartist.blogstop.com) whose blog is devoted to telling people how to get the most time out of their studio each day. My blog is just about what I do each day. How boring. Maybe some day my life will get really interesting and my blog will be worth reading.

Monkey or Man?

This is a picture of my dad asleep in his bed. No, he is not really a monkey (even though sometimes he does act like one). My brother got this mask way back when we went ot the zoo up in Lafayette, Indiana. Both sides of my families live there and a trip to the zoo was an anual thing to do until we all had been so many times we could walk through the zoo with out eyes closed. Here is a link in case you are interested or ever go up there: http://www.lafayette.in.gov/zoo.
I've decided that this will be my profile pic, so get used to it!!

Numero Uno

I'm so excited!!!! This is my very first post on my very first blog. What to write about...... First off, I'm a high school student in the Dallas area. Dallas is beyond cool. It has a little bit of everything. Great food, great shopping, great sights, and great entertainment. I also knit, so expect to see some projects every once in a while, but not too often. I'm not like those people who obsess of knitting probably because I'm not that good. I can really only knit scarves and rectangles. Maybe I will knit something just to show you guys.
I hope this you guys some info about me. By guys I mean the people who have nothing better to do than spend all day surfing the web reading pathetic blogs from high school students. I doubt anyone will read this, but that makes it all better. Than I can write anything I want without the fear of anyone seeing what I wrote.
By the way, I don't have a MySpace. I think they are highly overrated, but I mostly don't have one because my dad is a super genius and blocked MySpace and YouTube from my computer and I haven't figured out how to unlock it.
Talk later - going to the new Ross in town with my sister,

BTW: I'm only writing at 2:00pm because I had no school today because I got off for Fair Day. Fair Day is a day where the school district gives all its students free tickets to the State Fair of Texas at Fair Park. The only think to do at the Fair though is eat and trust me, I don't need to eat any more fried food. And its Columbus Day.
